13 Days Uganda Gorilla Tour and Wildlife Safari Vacation Uganda

Day 1: Arrival Entebbe Airport

You’ll be picked from the airport and transferred to a hotel in Entebbe for dinner and overnight at Protea hotel Entebbe (High end) or The Boma Hotel Entebbe (Mid range) and prepare for your Wildlife safari vacation package. Meal plan: DinnerBook Now

Day 2: Visit Mabamba Wetland-Murchison Falls

Mabamba Swamps west of Entebbe is one of the best and most convenient places to see the elusive Shoebill. After a few minutes in a small canoe the papyrus reeds opens up into a flat grassy wetlands where a number of Shoebill can regularly be seen. Thereafter embark on a drive north-west through the famous Luwero Triangle and, travel to Masindi via Ziwa Rhino Project with picnic lunch. A visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino trekking is a must. Proceed to Murchison Falls “. Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park

Begin the day with a cup of African Coffee. Your guide will help you spot Elephant, Lion, Cape buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffe, hartebeest, Waterbuck, Oribi, Bushbuck,  Bohor reedbuck, hyena and if you are lucky, the leopard. Return to the hotel for breakfast and lunch. After lunch, go for a boat safari to The Nile Delta that takes you between 4-5hrs, this one of the most interesting experiences in Murchison falls National Park through the extensive papyrus delta through which the Victoria Nile flows into Lake Albert. Here again there are plenty of animals and birds to see with an excellent chance of seeing the rare Shoebill. Overnight and dinner at Paraa Safari Lodge (High end) or Murchison River Lodge (Mid Lodge facility) Meal Plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 4: Murchison Falls –Lake Albert

Leave Murchison for Hoima; drive at your convenience through the great escapements of Biso for great winding scenery of Lake Albert. The afternoon or evening is spent on a game drive for game viewing. Overnight and meals at Lake Albert Safari Lodge –Only facility in the Kobwoya Reserve area. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 5: Lake Albert – Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast drive to a place that rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon with enroute lunch at your preferred local hotel or restaurant. Time permitting go for a crater walk around the lodge for sightseeing and photography. Meals and overnight at Kyaninga Lodge (High end) or Primate Lodge –Forest Cottages (Mid range facility) Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 6: Kibale Chimpanzee Habituation Experience

Today is dedicated for Chimpanzee Habituation Experience. Start the day with an morning early breakfast – a packed lunch and you are off before dawn breaks into the forest.  You meet your guide and you are off to where the chimpanzees built nests the night before. Dawn is just breaking and the chimpanzee community you are going to be with the rest of the day is rising from their sleep in the nests.

Your day will be full, your camera will fill up with quality pictures of the chimpanzees and you will get to learn to identify them as individuals by their markings, sometimes scars and other unique features that make them stand apart from rest. Besides everything described there are the most colorful butterflies, plants and trees that will amaze you –the setting is simply awesome. Day 7: Kibale –Queen Elizabeth NP

After an early morning breakfast, ready for Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, you will take on a guided walk around the Swamp which will provide you with the opportunity to see a wide range of flora and fauna. View a variety of butterflies, birds and other insects.

Thereafter drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park viewing the mystical Rwenzori Mountain range for much of the journey at leisure. The evening will be spent on a game drive safari to for wildlife watching and photography including elephants, buffalo, water bucks, warthogs, lions, spotted hyenas, bush bucks, stripped jackal, comical warthogs, elusive leopard. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge (high end) or Enganzi Safari Lodge (Mid lodge facility) Meal Plan breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 8: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Begin your day with a cup of coffee. Early morning game drive along Kasenyi and Queens Mile makes visitors encounter elephants, buffalo, water bucks, warthogs, lions, Uganda Kobs lakes and a variety of birds. After lunch, take on an afternoon Launch cruise along Kazinga Channel – one that joins Lakes Edward and George. The cruise is a wonderful way to see hippo, buffalo, kob and the occasional Nile crocodile (which up until recently did not inhabit this area) and a spectacular bird watching on the water bank. Many who experience the launch cruise consider it the high light of their entire African safari. Day 9: Queen Elizabeth –Bwindi National park

Begin your day with a cup of coffee. Proceed to Ishasha sector where you will take on yet another evening game drive in search of tree climbing lions. Thereafter head to Bwindi, the journey takes about 2 hours but driving through interesting features. Arrive Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This park is home of the rare mountain gorillas. Apart from gorillas, there are a wide variety of primates to see including the blue and red tailed monkeys. The forest itself is lush and green and there are streams running through it. Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Lodge (High end) or Silver back Lodge (Mid Lodge facility) Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 10: Bwindi Gorilla Tracking

After breakfast set off early with guides to track the gorillas. The thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous trek. Bring jungle boots and rain jackets because the park is often wet. Spend time in awe watching the gorillas go about their activities. Each gorilla safari encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a magnificent green swathe of dense rainforest, so ancient that survived the last ice age. A recently proclaimed World Heritage site, it’s one of the most biologically diverse areas on earth and its unique, precious flora sustains roughly half of the world population of mountain gorillas – believed to number just 720. There’s also a substantial chimpanzee population and research shows that Bwindi is the only forest in Africa in which these two apes live together. Time permitting, spend the afternoon on a community foot safari to explore the life style of the people living and surrounding the park. Return to camp exhilarated to relieve the encounter with friends over a drink. Day 11: Second Gorilla trekking

After breakfast, you will go for the second gorilla track but in another group returning in the afternoon for relaxation and sightseeing around the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Lodge (High end) or Silver back Lodge (Mid Lodge facility) Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 12:  Bwindi – Lake Mburo NP

After early breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park via Igongo cultural village, this is the place where the future meets the past. Learn more about the Ankole culture. Proceed to the park do an enroute game drive as you go to check in at your lodge. An afternoon boat ride amidst hippos is much rewarding and amazing Overnight stay at Mihingo Safari Lodge (High end) or Rwakobo Safari Lodge (Mid Lodge) Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 13:  Lake Mburo NP –Entebbe Out

Morning is spent on a bush walk for wildlife viewing and a game drive in the Park which is an is an extension of the Tanzanian Plains with big herds of Zebra, Impala, Eland , Warthogs ,buffalo and other savannah species. For birders, this is one of the best place to find African Fin foot, Papyrus, Bush Shrike, etc. Thereafter drive back to Entebbe at your convenience with a stopover at Equator crossing with your lunch enroute before you drive to back to Entebbe Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner End of Service
