This combines Chimpanzee habituation in Kibale forest park, spend a full day with the Chimpanzees in their natural habitat, see them swing, relate and how they feed. You will learn a lot on how Chimpanzee relate on a day to day life. You will drive to Bwindi Forest national park for Gorilla habituation experience. You have more time with the primates and this can be enjoyed more by researchers and ordinary visitors that wish to have an exclusive touch with Chimpanzee of Kibale and Gorilla of Bwindi Forest National Park. Day 1: Kampala-Kibale National Park
Leave Kampala after breakfast for the fascinating drive through papyrus swamps and thick jungle of the Nile Delta to Kibale National Park just under the Ruwenzori Mountains. Afternoon guided walk in the crater lakes area of the park for outstanding cultural visit. Meals and overnight at Kyaninga Lodge/Ndali Lodge (Lodge facility) or Primate Lodge-Forest Cottage (Mid Lodge) or Chimpanzee Guest House (Budget facility). A stunning location overlooking a dramatic Crater Lake and the fabled “Mountains of the Moon”. . Meal plan: (L, D)
Day 2: Kibale Chimpanzee Habituation Experience
Today is dedicated for Chimpanzee Habituation Experience. Start the day with an morning early breakfast – a packed lunch and you are off before dawn breaks into the forest. You meet your guide and you are off to where the chimpanzees built nests the night before. Dawn is just breaking and the chimpanzee community you are going to be with the rest of the day is rising from their sleep in the nests.
Your day will be full, your camera will fill up with quality pictures of the chimpanzees and you will get to learn to identify them as individuals by their markings, sometimes scars and other unique features that make them stand apart from rest. Besides everything described there are the most colorful butterflies, plants and trees that will amaze you –the setting is simply awesome. Day 3: Kibale Forest National Park-Bwindi Forests
Take on an early morning breakfast, thereafter proceed to Bwindi via Queen Elizabeth National Park and here you may spot many wildlife including Elephants, Buffaloes, among others. This is the lushest highland rain forest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps. Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Safari Lodge (high end) or Chameleon Hill Lodge (Mid Lodge facility) or Gorilla valley Lodge (Budget facility) Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 4: Bwindi Gorilla Habituation Experience
Begin the day with breakfast ready for your Gorilla Habituation experience up to 4 hours with the gorillas, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the UWA staff. Ensure to carry along with you rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots etc Join the researcher and guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy Primates for a group you have been booked for. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, meet the gorillas for up to 4 hours perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The Habituation experience will take a day but it’s well worth the effort. Day 5: Bwindi-Kampala/Entebbe
Return to Kampala, then Entebbe, with lunch enroute wit stopover at Igongo cultural centre to explore the life style of the Ankole and Bahima, thereafter proceed at the Equator Uganda before your evening departures home. Meal plan: (B, L) End of services.
