Meet the Mountain Gorillas in Uganda’s Bwindi Forests
Day 1: Kampala-Fly to Bwindi (Travel Time +2hrs)
Our guide/driver picks you at from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe for your transfer to Entebbe International Airports to catch up with a scheduled flight to Bwindi. You can choose to go with a morning flight or with the afternoon flight. You will enjoy the Ariel view of the beautiful changing Landscape. The flight is only for 2 hours o the lushest highland rainforest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps. On your arrival to Kihihi, you will be transferred with our vehicle to you Lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at either Buhoma Lodge/Mahogany Springs/Gorilla Safari Lodge (high end lodge)) Meal plan: Lunch and Dinner
Day 2: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking
Begin the day with breakfast ready for trekking, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the UWA staff. Ensure to carry along with you rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots etc The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy Primates for a group you have been booked for. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but it’s well worth the effort. The afternoon is spent on a village walk. The Buhoma Village Walk gives you a great opportunity to see how the people surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. It also is a great way to support the local community in a direct way. The Walk begins with your guide at Buhoma Community Rest Camp and is most informative, rewarding to the average visitor. It will amaze you how resourceful the local people are as you see and learn their ways. Day 3: Batwa Cultural Experience
Today is dedicated for a Batwa experience where the Batwa demonstrate hunting techniques, gather honey, point out medicinal plants and demonstrate how to make bamboo cups. Women of the community perform a sorrowful song which echoes and leaves guests with a moving sense of the richness of this fading culture. Day 4: Bwindi-Lake Mburo (Travel Time +4 hrs)
After early breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park ready for an enroute game drive as you go to check in at your lodge. An afternoon boat ride amidst hippos is much rewarding and amazing. Overnight stay at Mihingo Safari Lodge (high end Lodge) Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 5: Lake Mburo NP-Entebbe Out (Travel Time +5 hrs)
Morning bush walk for wildlife viewing. Thereafter drive back to Entebbe at your convenience after an early lunch at Mihingo with a stopover at Equator crossing to shop crafts and souvenirs. Thereafter be dropped off to the airport. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. End of Service
